The Chertsey Show . . .  Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th August 2012

 The 2012 Road Cycle Race

The 2012 Olympic Road Race. The race begins in The Mall and then follows a course travelling out through Hampton and Weybridge to Leatherhead and Dorking. A route plan is included in the direction map to the Chertsey show on the back cover of this schedule. The race will start at 0900 and roads along the route will be closed approx. two hours before the road race is expected to arrive. The race is expected in Weybridge at approximately 11am and so there will be disruption and diversions to the east and south of Chertsey for most of the morning. The Council are hoping that roads will re-open immediately after the race has passed. More detailed maps will be produced at the end of May and should be available through the Surrey County Council website. Please be aware that Walton on Thames bridge will be shut for most of the morning and this will increase traffic on Chertsey bridge. The M25 and M3 will not be affected by road closures but will have increased traffic.

TO AVOID UNECESSARY UPSET PLEASE PLAN YOUR ROUTE CAREFULLY AND LEAVE EXTRA TIME FOR YOUR JOURNEY IF VISITING THE SHOW ON SUNDAY
